Staring at the gravestone from a distance,
She knew the nights would be different now
With him gone, a lot was going to change
The curtains won’t need to be drawn any more
They could be left untied, unlike her hair
Those she could tie up now, revealing her long
Neck and milky white shoulders, instead of
Falling sideways to cover her suave cheeks
Time would soon heal all scars, including
The ones on her back…
She was now free, to fly
